Export Forwarder in a Dynamic Forwarding Company

Job description
As a freight forwarder, you plan, maintain and coordinate the transports (sea and air freight, export shipments) and our warehouse (WMS).
You maintain telephone contact with customers, shipping companies, foreign agents and carriers. You also negotiate rates with shipping companies, groupers and carriers.
As a forwarder, you also apply for import permits and the preparations for customs documents required for the transport of goods must be taken care of.
You also keep track of all (customs) documentation and knowledge.
You are service and customer-oriented, you like tackling and can work under time pressure. You don’t have a 9-5 mentality, you don’t shy away from challenges and you are result-oriented.
Job requirements:
- A (preferably logistics) training at least MBO level;
- Good mastery of the Dutch and English language in word and writing;
- 2 years of experience in a similar position
What are you going to do?
- Inventory of incoming and outgoing containers .
- Consults with the Warehouse colleagues about the unloading of containers, guiding in and out
- Planning incoming assignments/transports;
- Maintain proactive contact with the carrier;
- Tracing and checking transports;
- Administrative handling of incoming and outgoing assignments;
- Handles incoming and outgoing billing;
- Checks and books invoices in system;
- Provides correct information to colleagues Warehouse, Shipping Companies, Transporters and Customers and / or Colleagues;
- Enter transport data in the system; Informs customers about delays, extra costs, scan, inspection and damage.
- Stress resistant and can keep a good overview
- Independent
- Flexible, no 9 to 5 mentality.
- Knowledge of Excel
- Experience with transport documents
- Export and import experience would be top notch
